William B. Blessed, M.D., FACOG

Profile :
Dr. Blessed has been the Medical Director and Section Chief of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers since 1996.  He graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Wayne State University.

Dr. Blessed has published a number of papers on high-risk pregnancy including a report on prenatal diagnosis which received the prestigious Community Hospital Award by The Central Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.  Clinical interests include fetal heart rate monitoring, obstetrical ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis/genetics and diabetes.  He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (1992) and subspecialty certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (1994). He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine
